Microsoft Launch Two Mobile Phones named Kin
Following the Nexus One from Google, Microsoft which has been playing on smartphone platform launch their own product designs. Two types of Microsoft’s smartphone design was named Kin.
Both Kin phones were introduced on Monday (04/12/2010) U.S. time which aimed at young users who are now exposed by social networks ‘fever’. Kin One and Kin Two made by Japanese manufacturer Sharp Corp. and will be sold for the first time bundled with Verizon Wireless in the U.S..
“Kin is an interesting item for the target market of young people aged between 15 and 25 years,” said Ross Rubin, analyst at NPD Group market. He said if it did not sold well in the market, Microsoft has introduced a new concept in the smartphone market.
Kin concept is to unite the flow of information from the various social networks like Facebook, My Space, and Twitter in one screen. The user can also set a network of friends to share pictures, weblink, and others.
All data generated in the mobile phone are stored in Microsoft’s server and can be accessed via the internet. Kin also automatically backing up text messages, phone lists, photos, videos, and contacts in the server and can be configured with an application called Kin Studio.
This smartphone has slider shaped, using the touch screen and QWERTY keyboard that appears when the slide shifted. Kin One is designed to be operated comfortably with one hand while Kin Two equipped with wider screen and can record HD quality video. Kin also integrates with the Zune music player and FM radio.
